The Rogue Talent Trees are some of the hardest to work with. Simply because every Rogue wants every talent. Ok... almost every talent. All three talent trees are very strong and provide useful abilities. You wouldnt be able to throw any one of the trees out with out 50% of the Rogue class complaining about it. Thats gotta say something.
In the Assasination line your hard hitting talents are Cold Blood, Seal Fate and Lethality. Combat contributes Improved Backstab, Riposte, Blade Fury, and Adrenaline Rush which is the best 31 pt talent in my opinion. The Subtelty line provides MoD, Camo, Improved Sap, Hemo and Preparation.
As it stands now I am a 21/8/22 I have been with this cookie cutter build for sometime. Rogues constantly try to tell me other builds do more damage etc etc... when the damage charts come out I never lead them. I have tried several builds. Hell I have leveled an Alliance Rogue to 53 and a Horde Rogue to 60. That provides me with plenty of time to check out other builds. I have tried Combat builds, Seal Fate builds, Seal Fate / Prep builds, Combat Daggers and almost everything else except hemo which i dont have much experience with but still have lots of respect for as a viable build.
Each Talent point has a value for me. Not based on anyone elses external system but my play style and my own needs. Take for example Preparation while this is a great talent most rogues say they can do with out. Some even validate this by saying relying on prep makes you inferior in pvp when its not up. While playing around with talent calculators and making different builds I am always trying to trade up prep for something else in some other tree. I have to admit that this is the hardest talent for me to trade up. The countless times its saved my ass in pvp and pve come to mind everytime i consider respeccing.
Heres another example. Seal Fate is one of my favorite talents from the Assassination line. I would really like to go 30/8/13 or 31/8/12. At what point do I choose to give up prep and imp sap. Unfortunatly since im a dagger rogue I have to keep my Improved Backstab.
At what point did you give up your favorite talent for a talent in another tree? I do not play alts... except for extra bank space so I like having the swiss army knife of talent builds. It gives me great vesatility in PVE, PVP, soloing instance bosses and just about anything else. You may call it the cookie cutter build if you like but what I want to know is what are your Talent Point Trade Offs? What were the hardest decisions to make when respeccing?
