The Solution to the World of Warcraft Forums
Well seeing as I have not been able to play wow for the last week or two I have been reading the forums alot! Mostly just the Rogue forums and working behind the scenes on RogueSpot. However I have three new features that I think blizzard should implement.
1) Time on page - The blizzard forums should require you to stay on the page where you type in your post for a certain amount of time. I think 5 minutes - 10 minutes would be great. Perhaps it would scale up with the length of the post. Writing a Novel? 15 minutes! This would slow down posters and frustrate the people writing flames or posts that dont contribute to the forums.
2) Forced Preview - When your time limit is up and are oked for approval blizzard should force you to preview your post. Right now you can simply click post and its done. I believe it should take you to the preview page and from there give you a confirmation dialog asking if you are sure you would like to post this.
3) Forced Rereading of post - You typed up your post? Do you have any idea what it says. I think blizzard should force you to reread your post. Simply take two words and swap them somewhere in the persons post. To continue the person must find the words that were switched and unswap them. Most likely causing them to reread what they wrote.
Using these three steps I beleive we can put a serious dent into the trash that gets posted on the World of Warcraft forums. In particular I think the Rogue section of the forums would show significant improvement.

Feh, sure...
Somehow millions of other forums out there survive without placing a premium on how much time you have the post open. The solution is good moderation, not a system that decides for you how long it takes you to think.
Good Moderation at the moment is unobtainable. How long did the thread in the Rogue forums last with the title F-U-C-K Blizzard!
It was on the first page for at least 24 hours that I saw. There are not enough moderators to moderate.
The point of waiting 15 minutes was kind of a joke. Make you think about your actions etc. Kinda like waiting periods before buying guns. Real Life Cooldowns. :-D

I have a more expedient solution to offer:
Don't read the WoW forums.
I've been using this method since I started playing WoW in 2004. So far the results have been quite pleasant. 4 out of 5 dentists recommend it to their patients who read forums!
I have a much much better idea, it's called alt.games.warcraft.

I haven't read the Blizzard forums in a long time.
